In response to the increasing demand for the use of fuel cells in combination with a MASTERVOLT system, MASTERVOLT has teamed up with EFOY fuel cell manufacturer SFC Energy to evaluate the possibilities for product integration and system optimisation.
This has resulted in the definition of two systems for recreational purposes, such as on a boat or camper van. Both systems are equipped with a battery, battery charger, inverter, solar charge regulator, fuel cell and an energy management system.
The systems are differentiated by the type of battery used (gel or lithium ion) and the fuel cell model (EFOY COMFORT 140 or 210). The differences are further explained in the system description.

The EFOY-MASTERVOLT Basic System consists of a Mass Combi 12/2000-100 (charger/inverter), gel battery MVG 12/200, MasterView Easy display and an EFOY COMFORT 140 fuel cell.
This type of system enhances the comfort on a boat or camper van in many ways and can exceed your daily energy requirements for days and even weeks. As illustrated in the energy balance table, the system is designed to be able to generate more energy than used. This remains even the case if your solar panels generate a limited amount of energy due to a lack of sunlight.
With a M10 fuel cartridge, the Basic System can be autonomous for months in summertime and for at least weeks in wintertime.
As far as the gel battery’s lifetime is concerned, we advise you to complete a full charging cycle on a regular basis using the charger functionality of the Mass Combi. This will lengthen the battery lifespan.
EFOY-MASTERVOLT Advanced system consists of a Mass Combi 12/2000-100 (charger/inverter), MLI Ultra 12/5000 lithium ion (LiFePO4) battery, a MasterView Easy display and an EFOY COMFORT 210 fuel cell.
This type of system enhances the comfort of a boat or camper van in many ways and can exceed your daily energy requirements for days. Particularly when used to supply large power consumers, such as a refrigerator, the system combination of a MLI Ultra 12/5000 lithium ion battery and EFOY COMFORT 210 fuel cell offers increased power output and capacity.
As illustrated in the energy balance table, the system is designed to generate more energy than used. Thanks to the integration of the fuel cell, this remains even the case if your solar panels produce no energy at all due to a lack of sunlight. With a M10 fuel cartridge, the advanced system is autonomous for weeks in summertime and at least a week in wintertime.
As far as charging the lithium ion battery is concerned, the use of the charger functionality of the Mass Combi is advised if you wish to charge quickly. Since there are no adverse effects having a lithium ion battery in a discharged state, charging by fuel cell or solar panel is also sufficient.

The EFOY-MASTERVOLT cable is the connection between the EFOY fuel cell and the Multipurpose contact.
In your EFOY-MASTERVOLT energy system, the fuel cell switches On and Off via the MasterBus controlled Multipurpose contact.
